2004
Purchase of our first vineyard in the Priorat with a friend. It was a tiny vineyard of 3ha where vines where planted among olive trees. We refurbished an old shed of 70 square metres and started making our 500 bottles of wine in the Priorat region.
2007
We released our first wine named Huellas with the DOQ Priorat
2008
Two new wines from the Priorat are released, the Humilitat to introduce a light version of Priorat bottled with screwcap which was quite a statement at the time for this traditional region. This particular year we thought that the wine destined to be Huellas was too different from the
stylistically, so we made Bellesa Perfecta meaning the perfect beauty adding a question mark (?) As beauty is something subjective.
It was also the birth of wines adapted to the economical challenge. I looked in Spain for good partnership at reasonable price and crafting wine with local varieties. As a result we made Mas Amor (more love), a rosé wine. We wanted to bring a lighter refreshing wine with less colour and dryer than the usual rosé made in Spain. Herbis was released from the verdejo grape, the sibling to the ubiquitous and so popular sauvignon blanc. And, El Brindis from the region of Montsant, a fruity
spicy style of wine ideal for wine bars.
2009
In my search for organic wine growing I encountered the Mesies family in the region of Terra Alta south of Montsant (Catalonia) and we started creating a new wine called El Mago. The goal was to showcase a juicy red wine, pure expression of the Garnacha grape.
With the help of my friend Dominique Roujou de Boubée, we were also able to craft Licis in the region of Ribera Sacra. A region that I particularly liked due to its style that I call a cross between the finesse of burgundy and the floral somewhat spicy quality of northern Rhône. This was always meant to be a tiny production.
2010
New venture in Montsant. We acquired a very old parcel of carignan by the village of Serra Darmos and started crafting 2 new wines. The El Brindis and Finca El Romero later named Vinya Cucut. We opted for this region as there is a great pool of old vines.
2011
Time for a sparkling wine. We made the Mas Sardana Cava which later received in 2014 the price of best Cava at the Wines From Spain award in London.
2012
Again with Dominique Roujou de Boubée and his wife Laura we continued the adventure in Galicia looking for low yielding vineyard. We created Alma in the region of Rias Baixas and Audacia in Valdeorras. Stunning wines in micro productions.
2015
We made the El Mago white 100% white Grenache. This region was becoming more and more famous for its white Grenache, this is a single vineyard wine also made in tiny quantity.
2016
El Mago rosé with no SO2 added. This free SO2 movement was intriguing and after some trials and errors this tiny production of niche rosé saw the light.
2017
Time to release a Priorat with no SO2 added. La cesta
2018
This year marks a new start with the purchasing of a vineyard with my new partner David Forer MW. This is an amazing placed in the village of Poboleda. David and I are redeveloping this great vineyard with a team of expert and passionate people. Some special wines are to come soon…
2019
After a good vintage, we have released 3 wines with no SO2 added, El Mago red from Terra Alta, Saviesa from Montsant and La Cesta from the Priorat.
